7 East 96th Street
Perfection Re-imagined
Built by famed architect and interior designer Ogden Codman in 1912, this 40 foot wide limestone Beaux Arts mansion with curb cut and carriage entrance is truly unique.
The design was inspired by a home built in 1868, a limestone variation of an 18th century French hotel. Codman employed the French custom of entering the house not from the street, but from a side door beyond the porte-cochere.
Perfection. Reconceived.
The building has been occupied by a school for the last 50 years. Yet it is remarkably intact, preserving the historic and iconic elements of the mansion.
The home is ready for the 21st century vision of a new owner and today's lifestyle. With over 15,000 square feet of exquiste design, 7 East 96th is ready for her close up!
